i admit it - at the time i first purchased this mobile i wasn't that interested in what my phone was like apart from 'it had to look pretty'. and at the time, this phone looked the part, the colour and shape were different and eye catching, and i bought it without looking much deeper than that.
i feel i was very lucky for it to have turned out to be such a good phone, it could have all gone easily wrong. the camera quality at the time was super, though video recordings and sound were very dissapointing i frequently went to concerts and took videos of parts of the show, and at times the sound quality made it impossible to tell one song from the next. the games i got with this phone kept me entertained for hours, and the whole set up it is so user friendly and easy to use.
I would definately have recommended this phone to people at the time, though there are many better, newer phones available at the moment (i should know as i have got one). that said, this phone was a brilliant companion of mine for 18+ months, and if the video recording and picture quality had been slightly higher, i would have been happy to keep it for many more years.

Previous reviews mention the handy side button you can take pictures with quickly, yes you can, at any time, even when you don't want to. The button is far too sensitive, on a five hour drive home from Cornwall it managed to take 364 picture all on its own whilst in my handbag. The phones memory is dreadful, 2 songs and the MP3 player funtion is full. The phone lights display is not col but irritating and you can't turn it off. Over all the phone is ok but I wish I had researched it more before I bought it then I would have bought something else.

I am 11 years old and I had this phone for my birthday. Overall I think that this phone is really good value for money as i got it on o2 for £80.00. The bluetooth is brill and the lightening effects are really groovy! I got the pink cover which is great for me because i'm really girly! The camera is really clear and the video is too. This is a great phone so BUY IT!

I looked around before i bought this phone, and i felt it was a good price and had all the components i wanted. The camera and video is good, it's not amazing but it is a phone not a camera. I have had Nokia phones previously,and always gone back to them because i found them easier to use than other brands. But this phone is just as good, texting is fine, navigation easy. I was so pleased when i got it, it was smaller than i had expected - which is great to fit in small bags!
This phone has impressed me, it's better than i had expected, as i had never seen it before. I would say it is just as good as the phones out there that are £200, it may not have the same capacity but my friends have Motorola Pebl and razor phone. It may not have the same street cred, but for me this phone is better - you basically get the same features for less. As well as games, and the camera, bluetooth, infra red, i can store music! It's top notch - buy it!

This phone is really good. It's got a top-quality video recorder, a top-quality camera, a sound recorder, mp3/media player, infrared, bluetooth, internet access - almost everything you would want on a phone. Having had two previous Sony Ericsson models (K300i and a really old model) it's definately the best Ericsson i've had, and even my friends say that it's better than their phones (many of them top models). However, i have had two small problems with it. The first problem is that it loses memory quite quickly. I have about 40 pictures on my phone (all small, only using up about 5kb of space) and 5 video clips (which altogether probably take up roughly 1MB). My friend sent me two songs (about 4 minutes long each) via Bluetooth (which is great!) and I realised I only had about 1 MB of memory left on my phone. So I had to delete one of the songs. Even if i didn't have any pictures or video clips on my phone, i wouldn't be able to have more than 4-5 songs on my mp3 part of the phone. Also, the phone loses battery quite quickly if you leave it on for a little while. But this isn't a big problem because i just charge it every night.
However, all in all it is a really brilliant phone. I've got the pink cover and it looks really cool. There is an easy way round the main problem- buy an mp3 player! The camera and video quality is really good and i love the Bluetooth and Infrared. There are some cool lighting effects too, and i think it's great value for money[...]. Buy it!!!!!!!!!

I am 12 years old and through our the last year I have had the Sharp GX10i , VK 530 and Sharp GX25. After selling some of my old stuff I decided to buy this phone. I got it on Vodafone (from the Vodafone website for £100) as all my other phones have been on Vodafone. One of my favourite things about this phone is that you can change the covers on it. My one came with a white cover and a really cool sea blue one. The O2 Z520i doesn't come with a blue cover - it comes with pink! I have the pink cover for my phone now as I got it off eBay. When you flip the phone up the buttons are white and lit up blue which makes it look so cool! When you get a phone call or a text the edge of the phone starts flashing blue which looks so groovy! The Z520i has Bluetooth and Infrared. I have recently learned how to use Bluetooth and Infrared and I love it! Me and my friends send each other pictures and ringtones with Bluetooth and Infrared. The camera is really clear and so is the video. I changed my video settings so I can record videos for up to 10 minutes which comes in handy! When the phone is flipped down if you keep your finger on the camera button at the side you can take a picture of yourself (or anything around you!) without having to flip the phone up. Even though I have an iPod Nano I still have some music on my Z520i because it has an mp3 / media player. I would recommened this phone to anyone. I love it and so will you!

While this phone is nowhere near perfect, I would say that it is the best you're likely to get for this price.
Firstly it is packed with features. There is a camera that is able to take videos, MP3 player (albeit with a max of 12mb storage space to hold songs), sound recorder and music DJ (ringtone producing function)to mention a few.
I have found that the texting aspect of the phone is brilliant; the predictive text is intuitive, and there is the option of creating whole slideshows to send to people, including pictures, text and music.
As for the criticisms of this phone:
Firstly it doesn't have bluetooth. This was a minor problem for me as it does have infrared, which basically holds the same purpose.
Secondly there are some issues with the camera; the quality is not amazing, (but then what do you expect for £50), and the noise that is made when taking a picture is fairly loud. The only remedy to this is to call a freephone number (I think 452 is the best) and then push the centre button twice to get to the camera. Then no noise will be made when taking pictures.
The third criticism I have heard is that the sound is fairly quiet, although I have found it more than adeqaute for me, both when making calls and when playing ringtones. The only time I have felt it lacking is in videos or sound recordings when the person speaking is standing far away from the phones microphone.
Overall I am very pleased with this phone, but would probably only recomend it to people on a budget, as I was when I bought it. If you are willing to spend a little more, then there are obviously much better phones on the market, but this phone is enough for any entry-level customer.
