Tough - dropped it several times, also managed somehow to displace a button out of place in my pocket (due to keys in pocket but quality of phone) half twisted key simply clicked back into place and works fine
Intelligent T3 predictive text - actually works
Large memory - 1mb I think
Negatives-

lack of ringtones-look on the net for free ringtones, difficult to find and few in number+quality
lack of sms alert options - either silent or a beep
sms can get a little funny of me, refuses to scroll down to a certain letter
colour screen - outdated looking compared to new phones but doesnt make a huge difference

Overall a high quality phone but dont be paying too much as its "outdated" (minus polyphonic ringtones and a sharper colour screen its outdated otherwise its only outdated cause its been out for so long)

When looking to upgrade from my Nokia 3310, I wanted to get the most up-to-date model I could afford. The T68i was my choice, and it was quite a good one.

GOOD POINTS:
1) Looks Fantastic
2) Extremely Light
3) Easy to navigate menu with 5-way joystick
4) Full colour screen
5) Can have great accessories attatched, including MP3 player, FM/AM radio and digital camera
6) Has bluetooth/infra-red capabilities

BAD POINTS:
1) Ringtones are monophonic, not polyphonic as stated
2) Camera produces blurry pictures
3) Quite difficult to navigate if you've had a standard Nokia
4) Unimaginative games
5) Difficult to find places to get free ringtones

Before I had the Sony Ericsson T68i, I was stuck with my old Nokia 3310. A few weeks ago, I got bored of it, and bought this phone. I love it! It's the best phone I've ever had. It's quite well built and very light, so much so I nearly dropped my 3310 when I picked it up again because it was so heavy!
The colour screen is clear, even in sunlight, and you can fiddle around with the contrast and backlight settings. The keypad is blue when illuminated and looks very cool indeed.
There are a few things wrong with it though. One is the fact that the joystick takes a lot of getting used to and that the software is very slow on my phone. The menus take far too long to load up.
Bluetooth is a really good thing for Sony Ericsson to include, although the phone does lack a camera. You can buy the communicam for 50 quid here at amazon, but on the Orange site, it's more like 100.

I require a quadband phone in order to take travelling with me and so having purchased the Sony Ericsson W810i on the basis that it has been advertised as a quadband phone I have been disapointed to discover that it is in actual fact a triband phone. I only discovered this as I read the Orange instruction manual once I had purchased the product, despite on the amazon website, along with many others, it having been described as a quadband phone.

I therefore rang up Sony Ericsson in order to ask them exactly what it is, as on their website while it is not listed as either a quadband or triband phone it does say that it works on GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 thereby implying that it is a quadband phone. Only for them to tell me that it is not quite a quadband phone but more than a triband phone!?!?

I am therefore still left none the wiser to which frequencies it may or may not work on. I have been informed however that it will work in all the countries I plan to visit but I am still left a little aprehensive and feel as though I have been misled.

Although I am in no doubt that the phone itself is a good phone, if you are purchasing it like I was in order to take travelling then I would find out first if it will work where you wish to go.

After owning this handset for nearly 2 years now, I'm struggling to find any better phone on the market to replace it.



I have been prompted to write the review after a previous reviewer complained of hiss on the music he played; this is simply not the case and the previous reviewer has a dud phone which he should return. The Walkman sound is superb, as with all Walkman phones, the sound is of a very high standard and crystal clear. The speaker on the back of the phone is also fine for playing music in your hotel room for example where some familiar music can make all the difference when in far-flung parts of the world.



This phone has never frozen or required a reboot, the 2MP camera is of a very high quality and I regularly use it as my only camera when travelling light. In a recent rip to the Alps I took photos of everything from landscapes to macro shots of flowers and butterflies and all were top notch, if I do say so myself. The light/flash is incredibly useful and besides providing light for photos, has got me down many a dark trail in the black of night, I was amazed to find that the light is very bright and lasts for hours without too much of a drain on the battery.



A major failing for me is common to a lot of colour screen phones. There is no visible 'missed-call' notification unless you illuminate the screen, and it also lacks security. I'd like to be able to lock the whole phone with a pin code, not just lock the keypad, to stop access to the phone apart from me. This is the only reason this phone gets 4 stars and not 5.



On the whole, especially since this phone can be obtained very cheaply now, I'd highly recommend this mobile.

Great as a phone, good as a camera, terrible as a Walkman.

My W810i gives off a loud hissing noise as soon as I play as song. You should always expect some hiss from a music player, but this is dreadful. Worst of all, the hiss is at a consistent volume so when you play a song at it's lowest volume setting the hiss is louder then the music. It also makes distortion noises between tracks. Seriously, my 80's Matsui tape player sounded better then this does. I googled the problem and there are plenty of other people out there who have it so this is a phone to avoid. Also the lowest volume setting is quite loud compared with other players I've used. It's a shame because the phone itself is great, easy to use and nice looking. But only buy it if you never plan to use the Walkman feature!

I bought the w810i recently and knew it would be a great phone. Sony Ericsson are great for their batteries as they seem to last for ages.



The w810i standby time is said to be about 16 days - ofcourse this wouldn't happen as Im sure you will make calls, send texts etc. So really I would say on average you will need to charge it up every 5-7 days.



The talktime is an amazing 8 hours from fully charged, ideal for businessmen who use their phones a lot.

The torch is really powerful and will easily light up a room when pitch black. Handy if you should every need light.



Has all the usual stuff like bluetooth, music player, camera, video, etc.



Brilliant phone and would recommend to anyone. However, Im not keeping it as I have just ordered the w880i as it looks great and is really thin.



I will leave a review for the w880i when I receive it so have a read if your interested!

Even though i only has blue screen with black and white menu's it still has alot of fun features such as screen savers and back grounds and some very fun games that will make those boring hours traveling more fun.
it has an excelent stand by time which means you dont have to worry about the battery going low after a short period of time.
the design is geogeus and very sexi so for those of you who likes to have style for a good price of just under £80 this is the phone for you.
You can use it abroad which most people these days want to have.

This phone was great when i first got it, exciting to look at, good features, and new games compared to the old nokia model i was used to. The slightly different buttons used for texting took some getting used to, and using the button in the middle both to get to the menu and for shortcuts was hard at first, but useful for quick navigation. However, within a few months i started having problems. I kept getting dust inside the cover of my phone, so whenever i took photos it was really hard to see them with any decent quality, which was a bit of a let down as this was the main reason i bought the phone in the first place!
About the same time, i also noticed that the middle button started sticking - this got worse and worse, so now when i want to go to the menu, it sometimes takes me to one of the shortcuts, and what's especially annoying is trying to open a text message and it takes me down to the next one instead. Then i FINALLY get onto it, try and scroll down, and it starts calling the person who sent it to me!
All in all, good in short term, not worth it i believe in the long term.

Ok, rather than writing a review a day after i've bought the phone with everything being REALLY brilliant, i waited a while, i've had the phone since October 2004.
Now dont get me wrong, it really is a good phone, the camera is ok, nothing special, and the 3D games are impressive, the problem is the joystick. After a certain amount of time (like in the last few months) the joystick has completely stopped working, then maybe another day it works a little better, and now it just refuses to do pretty much anything.
Up until this problem i thought it was a good phone, however, as with my T310, the joystick has become an issue and all Orange say is that they will hav to send it away for 6 WEEKS to get it looked at, yeah right.
So, while it is a good phone in the short term, in the long run Sony's build quality is creeping back into question.

first no point of an mp3 it come probable maximun 1 song maximun. the whole mobile only has about 12mb they use 9 eash song =3mb the k700i you got 41mb fit to do 3/4/5 songs it has frames cool stuff but my advice is that if your a person tat doesen't care about an mp3 or memory buy it then.

I bought this phone in red, after i had the phone around 4 month, it stopped reading my memory card. I tried with many memory cards and established the fault lay within the phone itself. I immediately sent it off for repair. PREPAYMANIA held the phone for around 4 months, until returning it to me. On receiving the phone, although the original fault has been fixed, the phone now had more software problems such as fault music player and no sound recorder, but also had around 7 different cases of damage caused to the phone. When we wrote to them and sent it back straight away, they said that they did not cause the damage and that i must have caused it in the 3 days i had the phone for, and eventually sent it back in the condition in which i returned it to them. Although, conveniently they waited until my 12 month warranty was up to return it. In the end i was forced to buy a new facia from my phone, and can only use it for calls and texts. Although i recognize that many faults lie with the manufacture and the phone itself, many people i know who own the same phone have no problems, so i question the condition of the phones they sell. DO NOT BUY. AVOID SELLER AT ALL COSTS. Prepaymania have poor customer service, and once they have sent you a duff item, as far as they are concerned it is no longer their problem when it brakes after 3 months.

I purchased this excellent phone for my wife. The car she recently purchased came with Bluetooth connectivity on the audio unit. If she's going to be late home, she now has the option to call 'hand's free' - and without breaking the law - from whatever traffic jam she finds herself in (while her phone stays buried in the deepest recesses of her handbag).



On the added fun side, is that the car audio unit has voice control that enables the classic ET voice command "phone home".



Besides this, the phone has a larger than average display screen that makes navigation a breeze. The only downside is that there isn't a conventional 'ring-tone' that mimics a conventional static phone - which can easily be overcome by generating your own ring-tone from within iTunes. The only other gripe is that you have to buy a larger memory card for storing pics/tunes (but it really wasn't bought for this purpose).



Other than that, there is nothing to complain about this phone.



I may well buy one of these phones for myself - but definitely not in pink!

Looks great and a good small compact size but this is seriously compromised by poor software. Predictive text throws up bizarre options with the most logical word way down the list, it doesnt learn your most frequent used words. It loves to start every word with a capital too and you have to select the lower case option. And worst of all the phone reception is poor - it struggles to pick up signal where my previous Sony and other Nokias are fine.

This is not worth the plastic its made from. It feels like its going to break as soon as you touch it. the volume is way too low to hear anyone. the signal is appalling. It likes to cut out completely with "emergency calls only" flashing every now and then meaning you have to restart the phone. The buttons are incredibly cheap and sometimes you have to press them a couple of times to respond. If, like me, you just want a simple phone with which you are able to text or phone people, then this isn't the phone for you. it doesn't do either satisfactorily. spend a little more and get a better phone.
